Pillow Passion!

I have been noticing some wonderful pillows lately on-and-around the web (Ok, mostly Etsy...)

I love pillows! And yes, I am one of those people who has can not get enough pillows on a bed or couch.  Perhaps because I like pillows so much, there is very little rhyme or reason to my selections.   I love random assortments.  As such, I thought I would share.

My Perfect Outfit...

I put together my perfect outfit...here it is:
  • Go-anywhere black dress
  • Lamarthe purse (to die for!)
  • Hermes Enamel bracelet  (2 stacked for good measure)
  • Classic Heels - Kate Spade
  • Van Cleef & Arpels Earrings
  • 1 Stunning, Coral Cocktail Ring
Of course, I don't actually own any of these pieces yet...but half the fun is the wait.  Until then, I will keep this as a sweet reminder of what is to come.

I want, I want, I want...

I have been accumulating a few furniture items in my "I want" folder that are making me want to seriously splurge.  The reoccurring theme in this folder seems to be pieces that have a distinctly vintage, industrial feel.  I have found that many of my "I want" pieces have been coming out of the  Restoration Hardware catalog.  It is always a happy day when this catalog comes in.

I thought I would share some of these lovely pieces...

Artist I Love: Kim VanDerHoek

Below you will find pictures from yet another artist that I have truly come to love.  VanDerHoek has a classic, impressionist style and she tends to focus on landscape paintings, but recently seems to be branching out in terms of subject matter.  Recent paintings have begun to include architecture, city scenes and animals.

I have enjoyed watching the progression of her work but I have to admit that I am still drawn to her landscapes which are so classic and elegant in their simple composition.

You can see more of Kim's work on her Etsy site at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/vanderhoekart or her own personal web site at: http://kimvanderhoek.com.

Enjoy!

Artists I love: Helen Gotlib

I have been saving to purchase a piece from this artist for over a year now.  She may be one of my favorite Etsy finds.

Helen Gotlib's nudes and sketches are absolutely stunning.  I love the subtle colors and the somewhat sketchy lines she uses to form her subjects.  I can hardly wait to have my own private piece of enjoyment from her collection.

You can view and purchase Helen's work at her personal web site: http://www.helengotlib.com/ or at her Etsy shop at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/HelenGotlib?ref=seller_info

In and around the house...

I thought I would bring you a few pictures of my home. The pictures will likely make clear that I am not a minimalist. In fact, the beautiful clutter than I collect makes my husband crazy but I would not feel whole without all my knick-knacks and art.

Etsy Update...My Favs for the week

I have realized that what I do, on a daily basis, is search out goodies on Etsy that I love and bank them into my "favorites" folder for purchase at a later time. It is a ritual of mine that I cherish deeply.

Most of my favorites will sit until the money again begins to flow like the salmon to Capistrano. (Sorry...very bad jokes and references to 'Dumb and Dumber' are a weakness of mine)

Until then, however, I thought I would share the Etsy love and give you a taste of my most recent favorites on the site. Enjoy!

Artists I love: Leah Giberson

I spend far too much time searching out art for space I don't even have in my house. Often times, I come upon an artist that makes me want to disregard this fact. This is one of those artists.

I love her work...how the paintings are clean and crisp in detail and color. The subject matter feels playful but somewhat sad at the same time. Suburban sprawl never felt so cool.

I am never entirely elegant at putting into words why a certain artist appeals to me so let me just finish by saying that it is rare for me to be so drawn to an artist. As such, I thought I would share.

You can view and purchase her prints AND her originals at the Sebastian Foster Gallery. The web site is: http://sebastianfoster.com. You can also catch her work on Etsy (of course!) at her own personal shop page.

Enjoy!
